Cytopathology

Cytopathology

An increasingly important part of diagnosis and treatment in today’s medicine, cytopathology is the study of disease changes within individual cells or cell types, commonly derived in fluids or aspirates.

Our outstanding cytopathology staff is comprised of nine board-certified cytopathologists.

These experts participate in the performance, processing and analysis of direct, fine-needle aspirates, as well as computed tomography (CT)-guided fine-needle aspirations. They also instruct residents and cytotechnology students in the identification of potentially malignant conditions as a screening tool for the laboratory.
